Busy End to the Year at Saxquest!!

We have several exciting events lined up the next couple months at Saxquest! Tentatively, we’ve got Terell Stafford, the Oasis Sax Quartet, and Dan Thomas all lined up in November, Leo Saguiguit in December, and just next week we’ll have Victor Goines on Saturday October 20th. Please check back for times and more details here or on our facebook page. And follow us on twitter to keep up to the minute!

Once we get through November, it is trade show time! This season we’ll have booths at Midwest in Chicago, JEN in Atlanta, and of course MMEA here in Missouri. If you are attending any of these please stop by the booth.

We just got done posting a literal ton of new mouthpieces and horns for sale up on our website, including a couple Mark VIs and some gently used and excellent condition newer Selmer Series IIs and IIIs. Check them out online or visit the store for a play test!

Just as a cool note for the shop, we got a call yesterday from Branford Marsalis. We had worked on his horn about 7 months ago at a gig, and he was in town and wondering if we could look it over again. What a nice treat to hang with Branford for the morning! It was his first visit to our shop, so of course we snapped some photos of him trying a horn in our museum. You can see a couple up on our facebook page.

Branford Marsalis at Saxquest today

Branford Marsalis stopped by Saxquest today to get his horn tweaked out. One of the most down-to-earth and unassuming cats in the music industry, we had a good time playing a few saxophones in the museum before Branford had to duck out to rehearsal at the Sheldon Concert Hall.
