This is a great student instrument, an Artley bass clarinet, serial number #6117383. The Artley features a synthetic body with nickel silver key work, bell and neck piece. Standard key-work down to low Eb, an aperture key for crossing into altissimo fingerings. Doublers for pit orchestras and students wanting to expand their understanding of the clarinet family will enjoy this instrument for a long-while.
This bass clarinet has been actively used by woodwind doubler in the Saint Louis area and is an excellent player with a free blowing feel and a rich sonic character. This one sounds pretty close to a the classic Selmer Bundy.
It has been regularly serviced while in use, so it's showing a few blemishes from the lineage of owners it has had. There are a couple of small dings on the bell, a few scrapes on the body, and plate-wear on the keys. Fortunately, the bell flare is in very good condition, the integrity of the bow as well. In order to ensure it arrives in perfect condition we will do a bench check of the instrument as well as a thorough play test before shipping.
Instrument ships out in perfect playing condition with a newer Protec carrying case, the peg, and a Leblanc plastic beginner mouthpiece and ligature ready to play.
