This is a very old Selmer Paris K Series Bb clarinet from the late 1920's, serial number K6111. These early K series clarinets are not as well documented as the later vintage Balanced Tones which were released in the 1930's.
The clarinet is complete with the bell, 65mm barrel, 2 body joints and the original key work. This clarinet is in remarkable condition for its vintage and the pictures tell the story the best. Looking over the instrument closely you can see an area with an open wood grain at the top of the upper joint near the cork tenon. The thumb rest has been repaired in the past.
This clarinet came into our shop playing on older pads through leaks down to a low E. If you are wanting to do serious playing on this clarinet it will ultimately need to be overhauled first. Because of the early vintage of this clarinet we are offering it in as is condition at a premium price. This is a great item for the clarinet collector or anyone who just wants a chance to play on a early Selmer vintage clarinet. Ships in vintage Selmer wood case.
