Vintage Selmer Paris Series 9 Wood Alto Clarinet in New Pads - Serial # T2915

This is a fantastic condition vintage Selmer Paris Series 9 alto clarinet in Eb, serial number T2915. This clarinet was restored recently and ships in all new pads and material, and is playing up a storm. If you are looking to add an alto to your collection, you won't go wrong with this fine instrument.

This clarinet has been very well cared for over its life and you'd never guess its age by looking at it. There are no cracks in the grenadilla wood body, and no signs of any past repairs of any kind. There is little finish wear on the keywork, even on the touch points, and no dents to the neck or bell. Everything is in tip-top shape from top to bottom. The instrument comes with a vintage hard rubber mouthpiece (no name stamped on it) with a Rovner ligature and cap.

This alto clarinet came to us having recently been restored in another pro shop, and has like-new pads and material, with everything looking clean. The instrument feels great under your fingers. Sonically, it takes your air very quickly with just a hint of positive resistance to give you something to push against. These vintage Selmer clarinets are always hits for saxophone doublers, as their resonance is so big and they tend to be free blowing instruments. This alto definitely fits the bill and is is a joy to play. Warm sound but not too dark nor stuffy, just a lush, inviting tone that is easy on the ears.
