SAXQUEST Free Concert Artist Series – VICTOR GOINES – January 14 – 7pm

When: 2015-01-14

Saxquest is thrilled to welcome back to the shop saxophonist and clarinetist, Victor Goines, this Wednesday evening January 14 at Saxquest from 7pm – 9pm as our inaugural event of the 2015 season.

In addition to the performance/clinic at Saxquest, be sure to check out his evening performances January 16 & 17 at Jazz at The Bistro featuring fellow Jazz at Lincoln Center artists Terell Stafford, Chris Crenshaw and Alvin Atkinson.

At Saxquest, Mr. Goines will be presenting a small ensemble jazz performance and clinic in an informal setting featuring an all-star St. Louis rhythm section. The event is free and open to the public and hosted at the Saxquest shop. Victor Goines has been a member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and the Wynton Marsalis Septet since 1993 and he’s currently the director of jazz studies at the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University. He has collaborated with a who’s who list of superstars in the jazz scene, and is also a gifted composer, having composed more than 70 original works, including Jazz at the Lincoln Center commissions. His latest release Twilight (2012) has received critical acclaim. Please come by to hear some great music, and have the opportunity to rub shoulders and talk to one of the great saxophonists and multi-reed instrumentalists today. Don’t miss this one……….See you on Wednesday evening!!

Its such a tremendous thrill for us to bring such a fantastic event to you and we thank Jazz at the Bistro for their help in support of this clinic.
