Product Description
This is a great deal for advancing clarinet students, Selmer Bundy Eb clarinet with nickel keys, serial number #8194. These clarinets were manufactured during the late 1960s until the Bundy II in the 1980s or so, they were highly reliable instruments for the student market for that whole time and beyond.

The Bundy clarinets were made from a composite material, resonite, with standard nickel keywork, 5-rings between the right and left hands. Key action is driven by stainless steel springs which are in great shape from top to bottom. It should be noted that this one was well cared for, all the original gold engraving paint is still present with a bit of fading in the upper logo. The engravings and stamps are crisp and there's hardly any scratches across the whole instrument, you can see the original stippled texture the body has.

At this time the clarinet is playing with on its older pads and materials. The action is smooth, but the rings don't feel properly adjusted. The sound has a lovely bounce without sounding too bright and shrill. This instrument’s pads are older bladder pads towards the end of their life. Ultimately a mechanical overhaul is going to be needed before this instrument is ready for extensive use and performance. At this time the line in our shop is very long. As such we are offering this clarinet in as is condition at a lower price.

If you have the time and would like to have us do the work, please make the selection to add an overhual when adding this item to your shopping cart. The approximate turnaround for a clarinet overhaul is 4-6 weeks prior to shipment/pickup. In an overhaul we will disassemble, clean, and replace all pads and cork pads with a fresh set, all corks, felts, and materials will be replaced as well, all key actions will be made smooth as butter, and keys will be polished. The horn will leave the building in perfect playing condition.

Players from all sorts of backgrounds could get a lot of use out of this Eb. Intermediate players will need them eventually for concert band, auditions for all-state and college. Some folks who work in pit bands would find this instrument handy from time to time when there's actually an Eb part pre-written, it will open your opportunities for auditions as well.

Instrument ships in hard box carrying case with original barrel and bell. As an added bonus, a George M. Bundy 3 hard rubber mouthpiece for Eb clarinet will be included with a metal cap and ligature.
