This is a new Buffet Crampon Paris Basset Horn in F. You don't see too many players playing the basset horn anymore, but much music was written for it in years past. A relative of the clarinet, it is similar, but with extended keywork down to low C. It also usually plays with a darker tone.
This instrument is made of grenadilla wood imported from Africa. It is a member fo the Buffet Crampon Prestige family, with the same high level attention to detail as their finest clarinets. It features silver plated keywork, which are forged, copper plated, and then silver plated on top, and all blue needle springs.
This instrument is available only as a special order, please contact for details.
