This is a very nice early 1970s vintage Selmer Paris Series 10 clarinet in Bb, serial number W6135. This is a full boehm clarinet with extended keywork to low Eb. Curently in our repair shop in line for a fresh repad, it will ship to its next owner fully overhauled and ready to go for a long time to come.
This instrument has remained in outstanding shape over its lifetime. There are no cracks and no previous crack repairs/pins. The tenons are in excellent shape and the keywork shows just typical finish wear from normal use. The grenadilla wood body is in superb shape top to bottom. It comes with 2 Selmer Paris barrels, one that is stamped 4mmS (measuring 60mm) and the other stamped 2mmS (measuring 64mm). The 64mm barrel has a couple hairline cracks running the length of the outside of the barrel. The original bell is in great shape.
Our overhaul will include full disassembly, oiling of the wood body and hand polishing of the keys, with all new pads and material throughout. We'll finely adjust the action so that it is in perfect regulation. All is included in the price, so you have assurance that the instrument will be ready to bring years of enjoyment.
This is a wonderful instrument for serious classical and jazz players alike. The bore is a bit bigger than you typically find on a Buffet or modern clarinet, so it takes your air very quickly and plays with a big sound. The extra keys that come from being a full boehm are a nice bonus. The instrument ships in its original case as pictured.
